Einladung zur Gedenk-Kundgebung am 19.02.2021 anlässlich des Jahrestags des rassistischen Anschlags in Hanau
Wir, der Allgemeine Studierendenausschuss der Uni Potsdam, laden zum 19.02.2021 zum gemeinsamen Gedenken am Brandenburger Tor in Potsdam ein.
Am 19.02.2021 ist der rechtsterroristische Anschlag in Hanau genau ein Jahr her. Wir möchten an diesem Tag den Opfern gedenken, den Hinterbliebenen und Überlebenden unsere Solidarität aussprechen und die verantwortlichen Strukturen sowie das Versagen der Behörden, die eine solche Tat erst zuließen, verurteilen.
Wir folgen damit dem Aufruf der Initiative „19. Februar Hanau“ überall Gedenk-Veranstaltungen zum Jahrestag zu organisieren.
Dabei ist uns der Infektionsschutz, sowie die Teilhabe am Gedenken für möglichst viele Menschen sehr wichtig. Aus diesem Grund, wird es verschiedenste Möglichkeiten geben, sich am Gedenken zu beteiligen.
16-18 Uhr stilles Gedenken allein/in Kleingruppen
Kommt allein oder in Kleingruppen zum Stillen Gedenken zum Brandenburger Tor. Wir werden vor Ort Kerzen vorbereiten, die dann entzündet werden können. Der AStA Potsdam wird um 17 Uhr einen Trauerkranz niederlegen.
18-19 Uhr Kundgebung mit Redebeiträgen
18 Uhr findet eine Kundgebung statt, welche mit Redebeiträgen der Opferperspektive e.V., dem Aktionsbündnis Brandenburg und Weiteren begleitet wird.
Kommt, wenn ihr könnt, zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad zur Gedenkveranstaltung, um das Infektionsrisiko so klein wie möglich zu halten. Wir bitten Euch außerdem, vor Ort einen Mund-Nasen-Schutz zu tragen und Abstand von mindestens 1,5-2 Metern einzuhalten.

So beginnt die Initiative „19. Februar Hanau“ ihren Aufruf und wir wollen uns diesen Forderungen anschließen.

Gerechtigkeit
Hier kann von wahrhaftiger Gerechtigkeit zwar noch lange keine Rede sein, doch fordert die Initiative 19. Februar Hanau als erste Schritte in eine gerechte Richtung, einen Rechtsterrorismus-Opferfonds in Hessen ins Leben zu rufen, um Hinterbliebene und Überlebende angemessen zu entschädigen. Über anteilnehmende Betroffenheit und Worte hinweg müssen endlich Handlungen durch die Politik erfolgen! Aufklärung
Ein Jahr nach dem rechterroristischen Anschlag lautet die schreckliche Bilanz: behördliches Versagen, Schwerfälligkeit der Ämter, Fehlverhalten von Sicherheitskräften in der Tatnacht sowie Untergehen von gravierenden Problemen im bürokratischen Sumpf. Deutlich wurde außerdem, wie allgegenwärtig institutioneller Rassismus in Deutschland ist. Die Kette des Versagens reicht von mehrmaliger Ausstellung von Waffenbesitzkarten an einen Mann, der den Behörden bereits durch seine mehrmalig getätigten, paranoid schizophrenen Anzeigen bekannt gewesen war über Überlastung des polizeilichen Notrufs in der Tatnacht, blockierten Notausgängen bis hin zu respektlosem Verhalten von Beamt:innen und Vertreter:innen von Behörden und Polizei gegenüber Angehörigen, Überlebenden und selbst gegenüber den Toten.
Diese Kette des Versagens wird die Initiative 19. Februar Hanau am 14.02. um 14 Uhr in einem Livestream nachzeichnen und das kollektive Versagen benennen und anklagen.
Konsequenzen
Anteilnahme durch Erinnerung, Beistand und Trauer sind nur ein Teil der notwenigen Reaktion auf den rassistischen Terroranschlag. Es ist unerlässlich, endlich die politische Dimension des Anschlags anzuerkennen. Ein hessischer Opferhilfsfonds mit Ausrichtung auf „allgemeine Kriminalität“ ist bei Weitem nicht ausreichend. Endlich muss verstanden werden, dass struktureller und institutioneller Rassismus alle Bereiche der Behörden und Sicherheitsapparate betrifft. Aus dieser Erkenntnis und deren Anerkennung als ersten Schritt müssen endlich politische Taten folgen und weitreichende strukturelle Veränderungen durchgesetzt werden.
Rassismus, egal in welcher Form, darf nicht mehr geduldet, verharmlost oder ignoriert werden!!

Invitation to the commemoration event on 19.02.2021 of the racist assault in Hanau in the last year
We, the General Students‘ Committee of the University of Potsdam, invite you to a collective commemoration at the Brandenburg Gate in Potsdam on 19.02.2021.
On 19.02.2021, it will be exactly one year since the right-wing terrorist attack in Hanau. On this day, we would like to commemorate the victims, express our solidarity with the survivors and condemn the responsible structures and the failure of the authorities that allowed such an act to happen in the first place.
We thus follow the call of the initiative „19 February Hanau“ to organize commemorative events everywhere.
In doing so, it is very important to us to protect against infection and to allow as many people as possible to participate in the commemoration. For this reason, there will be various opportunities to participate in the commemoration.
4-6 pm silent commemoration alone/small groups
Come alone or in small groups to the Brandenburg Gate for a silent commemoration. We will prepare candles on site, which can then be lit. The AStA Potsdam will lay a funeral wreath at 5pm.
6-7 pm rally with speeches
There will be a rally at 6pm with speeches by Opferperspektive e.V., Aktionsbündnis Brandenburg and others.
If you can, come to the commemoration on foot or by bicycle to keep the risk of infection as low as possible. We also ask you to wear a mouth-nose protection and to keep a distance of at least 1.5-2 meters.

Justice
Although there is still a long way to go before true justice is achieved, the Initiative 19 February Hanau calls for the first steps in a just direction to be taken by setting up a fund for victims of right-wing terrorism in Hesse in order to provide adequate compensation for survivors and those left behind. Beyond sympathetic consternation and words, action must finally be taken by politicians! Clarification
One year after the right-wing terrorist attack, the terrible conclusion is: official failure, sluggishness of the authorities, misconduct of security forces on the night of the attack as well as drowning of serious problems in the bureaucratic quagmire. It also became clear how pervasive institutional racism is in Germany. The chain of failures ranges from the repeated issuing of weapons possession cards to a man who had already been known to the authorities through his repeated paranoid schizophrenic reports, to the overloading of the police emergency call system on the night of the crime, to blocked emergency exits, to the disrespectful behaviour of officials and representatives of the authorities and police towards relatives, survivors and even the dead.
The Initiative 19 February Hanau will trace this chain of failure in a livestream on 14 February at 2 pm and name and denounce the collective failure.
Consequences
Sympathy through remembrance, support and mourning are only part of the necessary reaction to the racist terrorist attack. It is essential to finally recognize the political dimension of the attack. A Hessian victim assistance fund focused on „general crime“ is far from sufficient. It must finally be understood that structural and institutional racism affects all areas of the authorities and security apparatuses. From this realization and its recognition as a first step, political action must finally follow and far-reaching structural changes must be enforced.
Racism, in whatever form, must no longer be tolerated, trivialized or ignored!!!
